Default New tank emblems

I'm going to change my stock Pewter tank emblems on my street glide to a set of chrome tank emblems
They are the same size.......any advice on an easy way to get the old emblems off?
I'm thinking if a little heat and some Adhesive remover.
I'm thinking ill simply use a crayon to outline the emblem now and then place the new one in the exact same spot on the tank.

Any advice?

Just saw your post.
If you have not done it already I used 25lb. test fishing string. Put some leather work gloves on and wrap the string around a couple fingers on each hand. Slip the string under the emblem on one end then work it back & fourth as you pull. You might go through a couple pieces of string but it doesn't scratch the tank & no heat needed. You will also maintain the shape of your original emblems if you want to use them on something else or give/ sale them. The double sided backing tape they use comes off very easy. HTH

Awesome tip.
Thanks.
I've been a little under the weather for a few days and haven't changed the emblems yet.
I'm going to do exactly what you suggested.
I'll update when I get this done.

Thanks again!
