Long-term storage question
I know it's been talked about a lot but I'm looking at a 1-3 year storage time for my 2012 SG. Found this on another thread and was wondering if anything changes since my bike is a 2012.
((Harley tanks are painted onthe inside, drained is much better than full. Make sure to run the carb dry. Pull the spark plugs put a squirt or two of Marvel Mystery oil or similar in (don't fill the cylinders). Remove the battery and give it away to someone who needs one. A tractor supply will have cans of high pressure lubricant. After cleaning the bike well, spray a nice coat on the bare aluminum pieces and nuts and bolts and spokes and nipples that might corrode. I wouldn"t worry about the painted sheetmetal.))
Also steel wool in the pipes to keep rodents out, bike on stands so tires are off the ground, Any extra info helps, thanks.

I suspect you got that quote from this thread! That is about as good as it gets to answering your question. This is another thread on the subject, which points out that the factory owner's (and service) manual covers the subject, so you can get advice straight from the horse's mouth!
Frankly I have stored unused bikes for longer and done no more. If you store to the 3 year limit, your tyres will be close to the end of their useful life, in addition a full service would be a good idea, plus changing all fluids. Cover your bike, to keep dust and any damp off it.
