Default Frankenspringer or?

I currently have a fully custom 91 FXR and want to add a trike to my garage. I was thinking about an 07 Springer I saw and using a Frankenstein kit to convert it. Any thoughts? Also, is there any particular Harley model you think is best for a conversion? Or kit that is better than Frankenstein? Thanks.

Look at the kit. They are well made. Those people know what they are doing. Easy to find the cost of the kit. Figure out if the price of the bike already done is worth it to you.
They even make a kit to fit the HD XG750. I am tempted.

You cant go wrong with a Frankenstein kit. They are reliable and easy to install, plus they look great, especially with the fat wheel option. IMHO! I believe they have a kit for just about every Harley going back many years. There website has a wealth of information.

Now, if you want a cushy Cadillac style ride you may want to look elsewhere for an independent rear suspension. These are straight rear axles with a Dana 30 differential, which allows the outside wheel to turn faster in corners. These kits ride similar to sports cars and will corner like on a rail, but you will feel the bumps. It all depends on what you want. I personally love mine and will accept the stiffer ride for the cornering performance.

Also, I would consider something other then a Springer if you want to increase the rake with one of their rake kits to help ease the steering.

Good luck. If you are ever in my neighborhood I will let you take mine for a spin.

frankenstein referred me to a company that makes trees to increase the Springers rake. Any other reason you would suggest a different Harley model other than this?

I'm guessing a Dyna would be the alternative choice for this kind of setup.

None that I am aware of. If your able to rake out the spinger to get the ideal trail, I say go for it. That will be one awsome unique looking trike!!

Thanks all, I may look for a 103 instead of the 96 that is in the Springer, but I like the Springer look. May as well make the front end as heavy as possible. Vulcanworks.net is the company in Florida Frankenstein told me about for trees for the Springer. They have a lot of stuff, worth checking out if you never heard of them.

A friend who used to work at a H-D dealership always claimed that Champion made the best conversion kits.
