Starter button does nothing

Starter button does nothing
I have a 1996 Springer soft tail Harley Davidson and last week I had it running and I shut it off and now the lights flash and a relay is clicking sound and it won't turn over! When I hit the starter button nothing happens! I have a brand new battery! But the lights flash when the key is on! What have I done wrong?

You have a dead short...the "relay" you hear clicking is the circuit breaker tripping...and when trips the lights go out...when the breaker cools down...it closes the circuit and the process repeats.

Hello guys I’m still down my 2001 Harley-Davidson ultra classic I have tried everything I can still will not start I left me ingnition on it was on for 3days I recharged it and nothing it’s dead everything comes on but the kill switch and the start button they are dead nothing can some one please help me thanks
