I have a 2013 FXDC, I have had an FP3 tuner on it for a couple of years now. I was riding it one night, once I stopped and shut the bike off. When I started it back the speedometer no longer reads speed and mileage doesn't go up. The lights work and it still shows the mileage. It will also chatter the relay sometimes when I try to start it like the battery is dead and throw a VIN Error code. I cleaned the speedometer sensor in the transmission just to make sure and no issues there. The bike has 8,100 miles on it. Is this an issue with the FuelPak 3 tuner? Or would a loose or raw wire cause this? Thank you in advance.
1. How old is the battery?
2. May want to get it load tested.
3. Voltage may show good; however, amps (CCA) may be way low.
4. Batteries can have weird effects on electronics.
5. As above, pull main fuse, put a good charge on the battery, put fuse back in and see what happens.
NOTE:
The above information, while credible, is worth what you paid for it and should not be considered gospel.
