Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
I have a question. Loaded up the a stock DJ map (PC Import) for 08 touring with Bassani Road Rage 2-1. I have the new Road Rage but should be close.
So I got around to trying a quick data log run. Followed Dennis's tutorial, but when I went to calculate new tune Nothing changed in the VE tables. Everything was 0. No changes were made. Did I do something wrong? There were a few minor changes on spark advance.
I just looked a little further (still trying to learn this, coming from a TTS) and it appears there are NO hit counts for VE. Why would it not record for that?
Could be due to a few things: Is AFR set to 14.6 to enable closed loop? Are the options in Log Tuner set with low enough thresholds that it is using the collected info? You can also review the log file directly via most spreadsheets to see what info is contained within.
Maybe I am missing something, but I was under the impression that when I entered the "code" that it set the tuner up to record everything as needed?
So you are saying I need to go in to the map and change all the settings (similar to setting up TTS)
I really don't get why there is not a better set of guidelines out there to follow. Yes, Dennis's document helps a lot but is either missing the info I needed or is not in the right spot. Setting this thing up to tune should be a step by step process (which I followed as is) and it didn't do everything it should have.

Yes instructions are horrendous. I'm questing here, you probably logged OK, but if you did not create a pvv file from your original tune file with those factors set up to change, then the log cannot change them.

I did create a new PPV and I selected VE front and rear Cyl.
Logtune confusion. I don't see the signals in the file tree of my original FM tune that I need to put in the pvv file in order to get a data log to calculate an adjustment for them.
What spreadsheet can I use to just look at the logged data? I have the open office spread sheet. Not paying MS $140 for Excel. Thanks, Kranky.

I do know the answer to this one LOL! You have to switch to pro level of user. Its under setup (at the top) then options. Its a drop down selection right under where you can select Units.

The map you are using is not a closed loop calibration. To use PV Log tuner closed loop is required, you will need to change the closed loop area in the AFR table to 14.6 and I recommend setting the Bias tables to 700. If you would like one of our Fuel Moto maps to start with you can send me an email to jamie@fuelmotousa.com

I'm already set to pro. I'll wonder around in the dark some more.

Open Office will read it in. Just have to make sure you select comma for the delimiter.
I am pretty sure I know how to make the changes to the map so it's in closed loop (should be just like the TTS) I just need some refreshing. It's been two years since I last used it.
