I am beginning to think there is no one at PV that even begins to understand the unit as it applies to installation on a Harley!!! At least as to how it interacts with the ECM and all the signals et al!

Did you do the reset posted by UltraNutz?https://www.hdforums.com/forum/ignit...l#post12897968

Did you follow instructions ?

Did you update tune after downloading the newest version that's working for everyone else?

Did you reflash your ECM with a fresh clean tune?

Are you sure the cable is not to close to plug wires, I used that corrugated plastic wire cover in the wire channel.

Are you related to Red Dragon? J/K

Sorry to say but at this point I don't have any confidence in them at all. The one guy Roy keeps saying maybe there is RF interference. Well sorry Mr. Tech but my cable is in the same place as it was when the unit was working fine. In addition; I am willing to pay the money to get a new ECM to see if maybe the unit did some damage to it but guess what? Haha joke on me, the unit is tied to the ECM. So that would be the same as changing bikes so there is another $200 charge for that. Oh, and then lets not forget the $335 charge for the new ECM plus the installation and the initial tune flash to the ECM. At this point I could have gone with the Thunder-max at well below what the end cost would be and be done with it. At this ppint in time all I have is a very expensive tach/gear position indicator for my handlebar. Still waiting for some great words of wisdom from the wonder techs at Power Vision but I am pretty sure it will not be forthcoming so again, at this point I have to give the PV! 0 stars out of 5 due to no real intelligence coming from the home office! Added toi the fact that the last email i received sort of indicates that there will be another $200 charge to change out the ECM that i am pretty sure that the unit zapped when i was caught in the rain one day.
man you've got more problems than a math book.

All this talk of "interference" is new to me except for audio/pv combinations.

catch more flies with honey my friend. Don't get pissed; slow down, take a deep breath, do a COMPLETE wipe as outlined in several other posts to a previous version of software, then update your PV device to the latest version of software and firmware, and when done with that, update the tune in your ECM

DynoJet tech support is pretty impressive IMO. Yes I agree they don't always say what I want to hear but they are there to help you.

Don't remember reading this question before, so don't shoot me...Can I make an extension cable for the ECM port so that I can extend it to the fairing and simply plug in the one PV cable at the fairing instead of under the side cover? I have an old SERT cable that I was going to cannibalize, but is in a grey jacket and not the uv resistant wire jacket, but when I found that in the garage that gave me the idea.

yep.. made my own on a couple of custom bikes I was working on.

But just for the record, unless you're got some unusual circumstance, the cable that comes with the PV is long enough to route to the stock connector.

One powervision, two bikes. Didn't want to buy another cable. Also wanted to make it easier to plug it in.

by the time you buy connectors and pins, you're better off just buying a cable. The only way it was economical to me was to buy a 10 pak of the connectors and the pins.

OK trying the steps you suggested. With all the rain we are getting it will be a few days before I can ride the bike to check things out. The weird thing in all this is that at first it worked and now it does not. Dynojet checked out the unit and all is fine with it. Just wondering if it is possible to do partial damage to the ECM that does not cause it to keep the bike from starting?
