What I find interesting is that the "consumer" version of the PV hides these settings but what I'm wondering is if all commercial users (shops) have access to them, I could imagine so.

So out of curiosity, what is everyone opinion of PV Log Tuner..?
BTW Heres a log and a tune...I am trying to increase fuel eco in the cruise area, without too much sacrifice to hard pulling on the bottom. I am aware of the 14.7 AFR at or near the upper cruise area (70MPH) and I am aware I am a little lean in the decel area as I like the rumble and occasional pop . This tune might still be a little rich in the cruise area via VE tables.. Which brings another question. Why do we spend such time to dial in the VE tables, only to add numbers to them later to increase fuel? From everything I have read, I havent found a fair explanation.. Thanks..
Glen
You need to do the autotune routine per the instructions for about 3 20 min rides and apply those changes from the autotune program.
Post a ride after doing that.

I hate to sound ungrateful, but I have tried this both ways. After AT'ing, my VE tables shrink, and so does my power and snap of my throttle. So, I have to ask, whats the goal here? So you get the VE tables dialed in, and then you set your AFR the way you want it to be at any given range, and you find that it doesnt run nearly as strong, and the throttle isnt as snappy as BEFORE the tuning runs..then what? The first thing everyone does is adjust the VE tables to fix that.. No? I really am not trying to be difficult, but there seems to be a different approach from everyone...
EDIT: I mean are we tuning for performance, Fuel Eco, heat management or what...If we dial in teh VE tables, and then set everything to 14.6 (as some have recommended) , how is that tuning for performance.. as I understand, youre just validating the the way air moves through the motor and therefore only making the AFR more "accurate". Then what?

Does MLV HD bind its license to the PC you register it on? Meaning, can I have a registered copy on my laptop and my desktop?
Thanks
Glen
EDIT: I went ahead and purchased MLV HD, which they over-charged me for, but in any event, I will save my current tune, and start learning to use MLV, and we shall see how far off my tune is..
Thanks for your patience...

I don't recall the exact wording but the short answer is if you personally own several computers, like a laptop for tuning and a desktop with jumbo-trons for looking at data logs, it is no big deal.
It is based partly from the IP address on updates. If both computers are on the same router, no big deal. If you are General Motors and 300 computers update from all over the country with the same license, there will be issues.
Regarding Autotuning and the motor running poor, it is going to do that. As I recall, DJ pulls timing and sets as much of the map to closed loop as they can. Motors run like crud like that. All the joy sets in as you roll on the fuel thru the Target AFR tables after you have the VEs set, and you roll the timing back.
I have mine on work and home. It runs fine at both places. He is really easy to work with as long as he knows it is just one guy. The issue come up when people share the sign on with all their friends.

Glen,
Are your VEs shrinking across the board or just in some areas? Jamie at FM has recommended disabling some of the MAP readings below a certain kPa (30the lowest?), so you're not trying to tune while decelerating. While we are trying to set up the VEs, it's done by backing it out of the fueling equation, do its not a direct reading of VE. Let us know more specifics.
