Just bought a 2011 flhrx and have less than 2500 miles on it. When I rolled into work yesterday a coworker told me my left tailight was out.The turn signal and brake light still work just the tail light is not illuminated. Any suggestions as to what to look for? Would this be covered under the warranty?
ok, so swap the left and the right bulb and see if it moves to the right side. If it does, then you need a new bulb. If not, post back here and let's see where it goes.
dual filament bulbs operate as such;
filament 1 (the one closest to the top of the bulb and stands higher) is for your brake and turn signal. filament 2 (the shorter of the two) is for run. so it is certainly possible that you have a filament in the bulb burnt and the other filamnet works fine which sounds like your case. Do what TickTock said and you'll find your issue.
The bulb was bad even though there was no visable damage to the filament. Thanks for the help TickTock and UltraNutz, Learn something new every day. Got a pack of #1157 bulbs from Adavance auto.

Cool! Sometimes the simplest things to check end up being the problem.
