sadly thru the years the engines got sloppier clearances as the prices continue to increase!! M-8 prolly the best ever design excepting the evo sporty IF it were built correctly with good parts, but some are lucky others not so much!!!! kinda like a hi-roller at the casinos!!!!

Yep, 6 decades of seeing and hearing about their shenanigans has made me a dyed-in-the-wool pessimist thru & thru - when it comes to MoCo products.
So far, I haven't seen anything in these posts to make me alter that attitude, either.

I've known and said for many years that buying ANY MoCo product is a crap-shoot.

I bought my '15 Limited anyway. So far, at least, I think I got a good 'un.

There’s good news jpooch00, you can always pack your **** and leave. Wait, that’s right it’s a forum... so, you can always simply log off and join a Honda or Yamaha forum.

“6 decades” is a long time to be disappointed and whinny.

Count me in for m8 problems. 2017 road glide special no engine mod at 14K.
First engine oil light came on at 9k, moco found engine oil migrating to primary chain case. They replace a seal, no more engine oil transfer.
Second at 12k miles, engine oil light illuminated again. Check dip stick and oil level at the middle, wtf! Took bike back to moco again and found a code about oil pressure sensor. They clear code and reset sensor connector.
Third, this time , my transmission oil dipstick showing no oil level anywhere at the dipstick. I can't believe my bike has transmission oil issue. My bike has no engine mod and rarely I run it at 3500rpm. But still my bike is not immune. I remember Harley bikes are notorious for an oil leak. This new designed engine M8, keep its oil inside. The oil doesn't get spit out anymore.
My bike is now approaching its 15k service. After reading at the other threads, moco has not yet develop a fix regarding this transmission oil issue.
In the meantime, I'll bring a quart of tranny oil with me on my trips.

One more thing, when people complement my bike at gas stops, I tell them thanks and also I'll make sure that they are aware of its issues.

If your m8 has no issues, lucky for you!

The oil light coming on is not indicative of tranny to primary xfer. Sounds like they didn't fix the problem.

Bike has multiple issues. First oil light, engine oil to primary. They fixed it by changing a seal between chambers. Second oil light, oil pressure sensor issue. They disconnect and reconnect the oil pressure sensor wires. Some other owners here on the forum, they have the moco replaced the sensor altogether. I want them to do same but moco says if it comes back then they'll replace the sensor.
Unfortunately, there is no tranny oil light indicator. It would've illuminated on me.

Many thanks to this forum. M8 owners like myself gave me heads up on what to expect.

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought most of these engine/trans problems were isolated to the touring bikes with the hydraulic clutches ? The Softail with clutch cable trans were not having this trans fluid transfer ! Correct me if I'm wrong !

Whether the "Fanboyz" like it or not, what I said is still a fact.

BTW, I'm not disappointed at all. Low expectations from the get-go prevent that.

You should look into the "ignore" function in your user CP if what I have to say is so upsetting to you. It works great!
