Yep service manager says it will give PSI if it drops to a certain level otherwise it just says ok
Well we now know that certain level is at least 1psi... Conspiracy theory here.. Ever think the MoCo changed the readout to just OK or CHECK OIL because they knew there was a problem? We would all probably be freaking out if we were able to see actual pressure readings riding down the road.. BUT! they couldn't delay the release of the M8 after all the testing and hype... so now they are getting to fix it under warranty as WE ARE THE TEST SUBJECTS... I haven't gotten a consistent oil level reading on my bike in 3 weeks... 7500 miles starting to worry..

No. That's just silly. They likely did it for the same reason automotive manufacturers did it - a less knowledgeable customer base (present company excluded, of course).

What model bike do have ? I was under the impression that the Soft tail models were immune---at this point !
Anyone with cam upgrades pulling the rocker shaft mounting bolts out of the head on the valve spring side? It’s happening...
The pic on the bench is the way it was in the Twin Cam. They sat in a support plate.

As I understand it they are not stripping out but the boss that holds the shaft is breaking off. It occurs during torquing and is caused by the rocker arm wedging itself as it's being torqued down.. This was reported by Steve Cole.
some issues may be from replacing the more costly long time EXPERIENCED workers with the new cheaper paid ones that are still learning, if so its prolly costing HD more on warranty repairs while inhibiting sales!!! so much for the bean counters wisdom!!!!

Could also be that a bunch of the older ones retired because they were too lazy to learn anything new. Had a fat pension and wanted to get out..
Considering most of the problems are relating to oil sumpin and pumps goin south, I’d have to say seals are a main issue
Oil migrating from trans to primary is also seal related. But add to that it is also a bad design.
Oil pumps have been coming loose may not be a s al issue, but they’re failing. Some don’t seal
Lube related issues will lead to other aspects and of engine failure.
So sealing it properly will most likely solve most, if not all of these common problem.
But assembly is priority number one. And there may be issues there IMO
It could be due to the now-acceptable (according to the MoCo, anyway) runout spec for the crank. They increased the spec to keep from having to replace their pressed-together crankshafts when they slipped and failed the previously much-tighter spec. They didn't address the actual problem, they just made it suddenly "OK".
Now those "acceptable" cranks are trashing the oil pumps.
The MoCo's answer will probably be to make the pumps "looser" to compensate for their poorly-designed and assembled crankshafts. They could probably come up with a spherical-design of some sort for the pump that would let the end of the crank wobble all over the place if they really put their minds to it.
OR, they could just design a crankshaft that runs and stays true to begin with (Sarcasm, of course. They'd NEVER consider doing anything like that!).

First off not a motor guy... Have 1800mi on my streetglide and noticed a fairly loud knock while riding. Took it in to have the dealer look at at and haven't seen the bike since. Going on 5 wks and the dealer claims the motor had loose bolts internally causing failure. Harley corp has been involved with the process of trail and error having the dealer test, record and report. The decision is now to replace cylinders, pistons, oil pan and other parts. Essentially a new motor with out putting in new moto. Super frustrating process! New to the forum and lots to read but has anyone else reported such issues?
