M8 problem, or just a Harley problem, but my 2018 Heritage 114 is an oil burner. First 1000 miles the oil did not seem to go down on the stick at all. But I was riding it like the break in period called for.
Now at 2350 miles I've had to add a full quart. Over the last 1350 miles I have ridden it at interstate speeds abut half the time, around 2550 RPM steady on cruise control (a little over 70 MPH). Oil moves down the stick noticeable at this RPM. At an outside temperature of around 80-85 degrees.
SO I will watch it closely. I don't ride the Interstate often, but when I do, it's for really long multi day trips. I'm doing a 6600 mile trip in May all on Interstate highways.
give it some time, mine initially exhibited what I considered unusual or even excessive consumption but settled down for the most part...in different conditions it will vary..the most it used was 1/2 quart on a 2000 mile round trip to Glacier last July..but it was around 100 out for most of the trip, and some high elevation pushing it hard, loaded down, etc. since then it has been pretty stable, adding a little here and there and I have 18000 miles on it now

Have you mentioned your concerns to your local Harley Service Manager? He can come way closer to mitigating your problems than members on the forum can. It is in his best interests to have a happy customer.

Yes, I did. "1 qt in 1000 miles is acceptable. But if it uses more, come see me and I'll call Harley."

With the Twin Cam 103 (my experience) if one fills it up so it reads 'full' on the dipstick, every XXX miles it would drop and you'd have to add more to get it to the 'full' mark.
BUT, if one ran it with the oil level at the 1/2 way mark on the dipstick (1/2 way between full and add) no issues.
Great advice everybody, over the years of owning motorcycles I learned that each one of my motorcycles has his/her personality (not sure if RK is a boy or a girl?) LOL!

Add me to the list for oil pressure switch leaking. 16,000 miles on the bike. Lost about a 1qt of oil in a 20 mile ride. Dealer said they have to order the part and will take about a week to get and install.
This is the third time the bike has been in the shop. Have had the bike for year and a half.
First time third gear came apart. Second time leaking oil at the cam sensor.
2018 Heritage with Street Cannons and High Flow Harley A/C. About 3400 miles.
I am so frustrated.
I had hoped this new motor would not puke oil into the A/C but it is doing it.
I think some of my oil consumption of more than a quart in 1000 miles is getting sucked into the intake through the breathers. I had oil consumption issues so I change the stock Ventilator with the Extreme high flow filter and in just 400 miles I'm getting oil on my leg, fake oil bag, and front of the saddlebags.
Keeping the RPM up is not helping.
Keeping the oil level barley on the stick is not helping.
I disassembled the A/C and found oil in the recesses the rubber breather tubes go in. So I took out the breather mounting bolts and applied some Blue RTV to the back side of the bolt and re installed, also pit a little on the nipple before re inserting the breather tube.
I have an important and very long ride coming up in May (rftw.us) and really don't want to have to deal with all this oil crap.

this is a 2018 model? Clearly under warranty? what does the dealer say?
(if you mentioned this before, I have not read every post in this thread, its long)
