Hello there, so I had bought a 2017 Road King special second hand with about 4, 200 kilometers on it and it came with Stage 1 which I had taken off to put my own style of stage 1 & 2 including the torque cam the motorcycle has just over 14, 000 KMS on it now and the motor died getting answers from the dealership has been iffy or exactly straight forward although Milwaukee came up with the decision to replace the motor entirely I am concerned if the new motor will do the same thing I'm a blue-collar feller that spent quite a small fortune on this motorcycle including just about
10, 000 in upgrades, I called Milwaukee to see if they could Supply me with a loaner motorcycle and that's not happening or something in lieu of the failure of my motorcycle. I guess who I am posting this concern is to see what you people have to say.

Did you stop at a stage 2?
I don't have an M8, but I've been reading a lot about this here, and from what I've seen, they've gotten better at fixing this dumping issue over the last two years. Personally, I'd ask the dealership to grant me a new two-year warranty on the new motor.
awesome share Max!..one word..PERSPECTIVE! ....like the dude, came across as knowledgeable and believable, hands on illustrations, dry sense of humor..good stuff...we get one end of the pendulum to the other on this internet thing of course..his professional experience over time offers a glimpse into reality of sorts

Been watching the guy for a while.. IMO he's one of the typical upper end mechanics, that has a good read on spinning a nut.

Interesting perspective but its also interesting when given the chance to say if he'd buy a new M8 bike, he didn't say he'd buy a 2017 or 2018 M8. He simply said he'd buy an M8.
I suspect what he's say is he'd buy a 2019 M8. Duhhhh, most of us have already figured that part out. Now if he came out and said he'd have no issue buying a 2017 or 2018 M8, that would be a sign of real confidence. I'd be interested to know how many M8 bikes his dealership has serviced. I'm guessing maybe 100-200. Maybe?? Not the best of samples when looking at the failure in about 400,000 M8 bikes sold (my guess of M8 units sold).

I took away from him, being a subject matter expert and based on his professional opinion, saying don't not buy one based on the internet reports which have blown things way out of proportion..and they only see 1 or 2 transmission problems in an entire year, and they don't have a dedicated 'transmission guy' because he would be like the
