You gonna let a few reports here scare you? lol Sumping has been more frequent in stage 3 and up builds. Buy one and keep it stock.....they're great running bikes.
I read in American Iron Magazine (articles by Donny Petersen) the m-8 oil pump while the same design as previous is considerably bigger. Larger in diameter with a wider scavenging (inside ) pump area. This was all to increase oil volume.

There is a thread on here....maybe by stonecold or soneone showing pictures of the differences in the new oil pumps.
Ive talked to numerous technicians at many dealerships, they all tell me no problems at all. Ive had mine for close to a year and 2800 miles, not a lot of miles but all fluids have stayed where they should. I would buy again, love the bike.

Well they're good at saying there is no issue. Kinda hard to stand there and lie when there is a tech or service bulletin out on the issue though.

I generally would agree with that but, I travel for work and visit many dealerships. Ive talked to a lot of them and always make it known that Im aware of the service bulletin. I even discussed the issue with the dealer I purchased from and they advised, leave well enough alone. Now we are talking about a dealer that could have taken on the work during their slowest time of the year (mid December) and been compensated for the warranty work from the MoCo.
Im not saying theres not some issues, of course there are. I personally dont believe these issues are very widespread. Remember the internet amplifies everything. Everyone Ive talked to out in the real world are very happy with their M8s.

I'm happy with my m8 as well. But my own dealership denied knowing about the transfer issues. Until I suggested they look at their tech bulletins. The reason your dealer might not readily volunteer to fix the tyranny transfer issue or the oil dumping issue.....even under warranty, might be due to the fact that there is no verified fix for it.
Particularly for the trans issue. The fix had been to fill to factory specs and check every 500 miles. Of course there is now some kind of plate they are installing, but not confirmed its fixing it yet.
