And with most tranny to primary oil migration issues, there can be as much, or more than 8oz of lube missing from the tranny. Over the long term, wear is imminent to another wise area where it is almost non existent.
I just went over 5k on my 103TC. No issues. Drove it home tonight like I stole it and it was smooth through all 6 and the motor was pounding like two ****ers in rhythm. Time for a fluid change soon.

Wouldn't be to hard to prove, since most of them have the transfer problem, and if you don't have that problem now, you probably will eventually. Hey ! look at it this way, at least the dealer made out, now he can get paid for some repair work.

I do indeed check my levels. Usually only add 1/2 to 3/4 between 5k check up. Running synthetic oil.

Where do you run your oil level at on the dipstick.

I second this. I fill to full on changes and it doesn't drop at all between the 5K intervals. I run conventional oil, and have done so since my build.
