2017 Road Glide here with over 61,000 miles and still hanging on. Stage 3 since 18,000 miles. Dealer maintained and I'm loving it!

2018 Street Glide Special
I put the oil in the transmission, I ride some miles, the transmission has less oil and the rest of the holes are over-serviced.
Magic! (Shitty, black magic)
Rapid City HD already put in a new trans pack after Sturgis last year.
Problem has not gone away.

My road glide 3000 miles on it, about 100 since powder coating. I took off rocket heads and push rod tubes. The bike will be delivered back here tomorrow. Is there a test I can do to narrow down possible cause or do I just need to remove rocker cover and see if I see a broken rocker and bent rod?

Thank you for any advice
17rdgs, any updates on this?

My M8, 2017 FLHTCU brought home January 2017.
Now 13500 miles on it.
Stage 4 at delivery.
It is not my daily rider, I have a Dyna for that, and other antiques I play with

Anyway, its 1st time out yesterday this year, about a 600 mile round trip to pay some respect to now deceased friends (2).
About 100 miles before home, I started experiencing the same as you describe.
It at first sounded like the cylinder canceller, the front cylinder cut-out when it is warm out and you stop, came into play, only I was doing 60 mph at the time.
I was able to smooth it out fluctuating the throttle and speed.
But it was noticeably rough when I came to a traffic light slowing, or at a stop.
Cadence doesn't sound correct.
It did get me home, never stalled, so I wonder.
It was upper 50s last night when this happened.
It has that clanging sound from front cylinder idling in the garage once I got home, totally un-noticeable while going down the road.

Started looking here this morning, so far, this the closest I found of someone else with similar problem.
I am about to go out there and have a look/see.

As far as the haters out there, I may be fairly new to this forums, it does not mean I am some kind of novice around Harleys and working on them, there is always FB for the keyboard warriors.
No offense directed at anyone, just searching out solutions.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Has these problems been addressed and fixed? Is there a particular engine size that is more prone to problems? From reading a lot of the posts it appears touring bikes are more plagued with issues than say softtails. And it's my understanding the softballs don't have the same clutch problems.

My friend is thinking of ordering a fat boy and I'm thinking of trying to get a sweet deal on a 18 holdover breakout. Really not looking for a shop queen. Any information, guidance and opinions are very much appreciated. This would be my first Harley and want to have a good experience.. Thank you in advance.

Softails generally don't sump, and they are immune from the transmission transfer problem. However, if you go putting a Stage IV kit on a Softail, I would say you'll increase the chances that it might sump.

I haven't looked into mine yet, bad timing on appointments for me.

I was hoping for some clues before I begin.

In my personal shop, I had a rebuild on the hook, a 1950 FL, well it is together and now back to back camping trips over the next couple weeks.
Retire, and never enough time to get anything done, LOL.
I will post here when I discover something, I only have ideas for now.

Thanks to any that may share their knowledge.
