Default Static sound from engine

I have a 2018 Softail Slim with the 107 M8. Between 1800 rpm's and 2200 rpms a static sound comes from the engine. Power isn't affected but the sound is odd. Anyone have an idea what it might be?

Dumb question - what octane are you using?

What oil are you using, have you changed anything?
Post a video or sound clip.

Default Clutch Switch ?

I have noticed the my 17 Road King idle surges when rolling up to a stop with the clutch pulled in. Once I stop completely or put it neutral as I am coasting down hill in traffic, then the idle is always smooth (I can put it back into gear and the surging returns). My clutch safety switch was intermittent in 17 and stopped working all together last year so in addition to not being able to restart quickly if I were to stall on takeoff, I have noticed this problem as well. If you find your bike is also not starting in gear you may want to look up Service Bulletin M1468: 2017 - 2018 Touring and Trike - Clutch Switch Update and square this away first. Its a new left hand control module and clutch lever that seems to be more reliable than the original. I have 33k now and have not been back to the dealer yet since buying my bike it but a few members of my local HOG group have had this switch replaced several times until the new one came out and it hasn't been an issue again for them. Guess I'll let them change it out for me next month when I bring it in for the hydraulic clutch recall.

My question is, does the sumping, and migrating tranny fluid to the primary include all models or just the touring ?

All M8 Models are included for sumping potential in the latest (Aug 2018) SB1450 for model years 2017 & 2018. Based on reports in HDForums, the incidence varies by model and engine upgrades but all M8 models and engine types have had reports of sumping.

You can find all the models identified by HD for fluid transfer in TA0022 below.

The migrating transmission fluid issue is solely related to touring bikes. They have a hydraulic clutch, the Softails don't.

As for sumping, while it is technically possible for a Softail, it seems to be much more unlikely for a Softail to sump than for a Touring bike. It can and has happened (we have had exactly one report here of a Softail sumping in the 1.5 years they've been available) but it doesn't appear to be nearly as common on a Softail.

Default Compression 70 front cylinder

Hello I am hoping someone can tell me best place to start , I was riding heard a loud ticking sound from front cylinder loss some power and pulled over. Had it taken to dealership they will not work on under warranty due to powder coating. They said the front has compression of 70.

My road glide 3000 miles on it, about 100 since powder coating. I took off rocket heads and push rod tubes. The bike will be delivered back here tomorrow. Is there a test I can do to narrow down possible cause or do I just need to remove rocker cover and see if I see a broken rocker and bent rod?

Thank you for any advice
