that's weird. the m8 starts in gear and there is no way to turn the fuel on/off.. are we talking about the same bike? sounds like you're riding a 1995 suzuki 250.
I suspect he's discussing the Run/Stop switch.. Flip it on and you can hear the pump run..
OK guys...Here's the update on the dying and not starting issue. I've had it to 2 dealers and no codes were thrown, so I had the dealer take it back to the factory map and I've since ridden over 300 miles with absolutely no issues. I haven't replaced any switches or anything for that matter. Just went back to factory settings. Is there a chance the program uploaded had a glitch?
Something similar happened to me last year.I performed the latest firmware update on my FP3 for my 2015 TC. I did it just to keep thing current.
Took the bike for a ride and every time I approached a red light and stopped the engine would die. The bike would start up again but would die when approaching a stop.
Got home and reflashed the map, same map but the current version.
Problem solved, something in the last frimware update affected the former map I was using.

I appreciate it. This has been a crazy thing. Sporadic to say the least.
Can't keep gas tank full. Lol. 2400 miles. No leaks no muss no fuss. Runs stronger that my old 103 with stage II upgrade. I love when people get Dino's and brag well my tc gets 95/103 stats. Ask any racer what maters mist is that torque curve and the area under it. Not peak numbers. The sooner your at max torque and the longer it lastthe faster the bike will be. The M8 is long overdue. 107/4 valve design has been out there on japbikes for years. About time he got it together. Love this bike and all the improvements.
For the naysayers. He has always had problems with any new system introduced. Remember the 6 speeds. Remember the self adjusting primary chain. Remember the hydraulic clutch. Remember brembo brakes. Remember tow. As each of these improvements came to production there was a few failures. He fixed the bikes. Made fine tuning changes as necessary and kept moving on
Those of you waiting till next year. Don't bother. Most production ain't gonna be a problem. So odds are you'll be riding and loving it
Now one thing I'm gonna do though is keep an eye in the rubber oil lines and when they need to be replaced I'm gonna go to braided SS lines and worm clamps. Hd inspected my lines on the recall and said they are fine. If they develop a leak it is replacement time. Lol
Add me to the list of stage 3 and 4 kit issues with the loss of power due to an oil issue, possibly sumping.
Anyone heard anything else in regards to solving this issue?
I had the issue happen on my 2017 Ultra Limited with a stage III kit installed. Dealer warrantied, and I upgraded to a stage IV kit. I had the same exact problem with the stage IV kit happen and am now waiting to see whats next.
I would like to know more information if anyone has any in regards to what HD is doing about this. Same exact issue with loss of power. Mine happened to each stage 3 and 4 kit. Cruise control on at 75-80 MPH and I go to pass a car and no juice when I get on the throttle. I was running between 75 and 80 on open highway for good 30-45 minutes cruising when it happened.
Same conditions when it happened again on the stage 4 kit. So now I need to take it back and see what happens now.
So far dealer is treating me right, however, I am not sure if there is a solution, or we need to just go back to stock for now until they fix this.
