I suspect it has to do with the EITMS system shutting down the rear cylinder to cool it. Makes the power pulses different and with the new balancer I think it makes the motor mounts squeak a little
Only problem with mine is a Rear O2 sensor code. Cleared and will wait to see if it was a one off. Still trying to get used to new clutch. Couple stalls and can be tough going from cable to Hydraulic. Keep wanting to pull all the way when all I need to do is just flintch.....that's all it needs
This is followup on an earlier post I made in mid-April. Compared to some of the other problems reported in this thread, it's almost too trivial to mention.
It took me a while to take the bike to the shop, because I'd rather be riding.
The dealer has replaced both gaskets on the rear rocker box, under warranty. 60 miles later, and no more dripping of oil onto the cooling fins.
I also learned that the MoCo has very specific definitions of a leak, a seep and a weep. I thought that the M8 had a seep, but it was actually a leak. Who knew?
Mine just died while rolling to a stop several times. Once when I was at a red light. You have to turn the ignition off, put it in neutral, turn the ignition back on, and turn the fuel back on. Then hit the starter. If you don't follow that exact procedure, it will not do anything. If it's in gear, it will not start. It's like the the power is completely off only to the ignition because everything else works. It doesn't throw a code. I've had it to two shops and neither have found the problem yet. I had the dealer install a TTS tuner on it previously. They reset the bike back to factory Wednesday. I rode it home and it seemed OK. Anyone have any ideas? It seemed like it was running out of fuel; however, it wouldn't crank after it died until I went through the aforementioned procedure.

Have them set the idle higher. Your start sequence might be indicating a bad ECM.. It can't throw a code if it gets hung up but I'd fix the no start in gear first. That is likely the clutch switch at the lever. It might be thinking the clutch lever is out all the time.. If that's the case the starter won't spin unless in neutral.

Thank you. I will pass this info on to the tech. He's been on the phone with Harley also.

You kind of lost me when you said "and turn the fuel back on". How did you turn the fuel off?
that's weird. the m8 starts in gear and there is no way to turn the fuel on/off.. are we talking about the same bike? sounds like you're riding a 1995 suzuki 250.
