Hello I am hoping someone can tell me best place to start , I was riding heard a loud ticking sound from front cylinder loss some power and pulled over. Had it taken to dealership they will not work on under warranty due to powder coating. They said the front has compression of 70.
My road glide 3000 miles on it, about 100 since powder coating. I took off rocket heads and push rod tubes. The bike will be delivered back here tomorrow. Is there a test I can do to narrow down possible cause or do I just need to remove rocker cover and see if I see a broken rocker and bent rod?
Thank you for any advice
Mmmmmm So she was all good then ya got powder coating and then it **** the bed after a 100 miles huh ?.
Maybe a few pictures of the powder coating or a better description other than ya had it done as to what and where might help.
The most logical thing is most likely the cause of the problem.

If you removed rockers to PC, you probably cracked a rocker tower. Not HDs fault technically tho they could have made the towers a little beefier.
Got a 17 m8 new, did stage 4, at 10k miles engine seized. I have heard that this is not uncommon; question is, have the problems been successfully addressed in the 2019s?

wouldntthere be motor oil shootint, not dripping out off the top end if this was the case? Not sure if this was already mentioned? But if it indeed is gushing out motor oil, then youre probably right

The migrating transmission fluid issue is solely related to touring bikes. They have a hydraulic clutch, the Softails don't.
As for sumping, while it is technically possible for a Softail, it seems to be much more unlikely for a Softail to sump than for a Touring bike. It can and has happened (we have had exactly one report here of a Softail sumping in the 1.5 years they've been available) but it doesn't appear to be nearly as common on a Softail.
Well they had a hydro clutch recall awhile back, was this really the start of the sumping problem in another guyse ?
