Was the head cracked? Or simply one of the rocker supports broke??

Looks like the result of over-tightening to me.

yes would be the case but TQ wrench set to 10 ft lbs. on first step of tightening and look at threads would be pulling up, when it would over tighten

A good reminder for everyone how important a Quality torque wrench is.

Most if not all of these yahoos have never ridden a m8 or know anything about them. They for the most part are guys who would love a new bike but just can't afford one so its bad mouth time. Just look at his current bike. That should tell you something. Good hell this guy has missed a few new models. Appears to way behind times.

Was talking to Steve Cole (TTS) on Sunday he's saying part of the reason they are splitting is that the rocker gets cocked as the shaft is tightened down causing the support to crack..

agreed thats why I have a 450.00 Matco in 1/4 3/8 and 1/2 drives

So your saying this isn't just inherit to the M8? Or did this Steve guy split one himself?

Should not get crocked of you have all tension off the springs and don't try to do one side at a time make them even as you tighten them
