How many dealerships have you visited and heard these stories? I'm also interested in the number of bikes you've heard about that's had these issues, could you clarify a bit on the numbers?
Three dealers about 12 bikes in total. I will not name the dealers as they seem very concerned to discuss the information at 2 of the dealers, the third dealer information came from a friend who is friends with the service manager at that dealer.
I am a HD guy through and through and wouldn't trade my Harley for any other brand so I'm certainly not bashing Harley Davidson! With that said, the horror stories I'm hearing can't be good for Harley Davidson and I'm surprised there is not more information on the forums, etc. I've also read positive things about the new M8 on this forum.
I have a 17 RG put on some TAB performance mufflers couldn't tell much difference. Then i bought the screaming eagle air filter installed it ran like a rocket, got worried i might have leaned it out to much had a dealer flash the stage 1 now it don't run near as good.
Guess we will see how this thread goes. Hopefully we get some real info if there is a problem from someone with no bias. I can say my dealer has wanted my bike in trade for the last year. Its a Breakout with lots of upgrades. I love my Breakout and told him he would get it out of my cold dead hands. But after test riding a Bagger (Milwaukee eight) I am considering it. I am 100% sure there will be problems, but if there are Harley will stand behind their bikes. And I have a really good dealer to work with.

Nevada and others have tried to bring up the problems that are occurring with some of the new motors, but are predictably being shouted down by those who have bought M8 bikes.
It's the battle of the birds, The Ostriches vs. The Chicken Littles, for now I'll just sit back and watch....
The problem I have is that it runs so good that I can't stop riding it! The best running HD that I have ever had, ( and I've had a few ).
Just for the sake of perspective, the worst HD that I have owned was a 2005 CVO 103 FLHTCSE. That one was $30,000 worth of misery.
