Can you start the bike in gear? If not, then you might have a bad clutch switch. AFAIK a bad clutch switch would also stop the EITMS from going Active if the bike was in gear.
Question on the EITMS. I had turned my EITMS off and hadn't had back on for a while. Had bike at dealer for oil light and they installed the oil sensor which solved the problem. While it was there there did an update on it.
When i got it back the EITMS was enabled which was no big deal. But it doesn't come on at a light unless the bike is in neutral now with the clutch pulled. If in gear it won't come on. I thought it used to come on at a light with bike in gear. But has been since early this year that i turned it off. Didn't want to act dump and say something to dealer about this.
Any input?
I have noticed that on my bike the "limit switch" on the clutch handle is very sensitive. If you let the "clutch out" even a very small, amount while at a light and in gear the eitms will trip off. It's probably another 1/4-3/8 inch before the clutch get to the friction zone. If you are not holding the lever to the stops (all the way in) it will jack with the eitms. Just my xperi nice on my bike.
Could also be that those having neutral only issues may have a bad switch as neutral with clutch out runs a different algorithm for the software.
Does she have a sister? Just asking for a..uh.. friend, ya know? ;-)
LOL, no, sorry. She's one of a kind..... she loves motorcycles almost as much as me. The ultra limited is my favorite in the Harley line up. I'm trying to convince her to let me get a 2005 or 2006 night train. That would be a great bar hopper!
I learned about this feature here , back when I joined this forum. The dealership where I got my Road King never mentioned it to me when I picked up my bike. Its amazing. The longer I own it the more I realize they are really lacking. I think the only thing they really did was set the clock. Not a huge deal since the bike is bare bones ( no ABS or anything) but geez...
