I've read a few comments on here that there is a speed limiter on the M8s but I have yet to hit it. There is a long straight stretch of highway nearby where I live that I can see for at least 3 or 4 miles. I've taken the bike up to 100mph/160kph no problem. I consider the motor to be broken in at 1500m/2500km, so I had the opportunity to wind it up on the straight stretch of highway (zero traffic) to see what it would do. I had the speedo needle touch 200kph/124mph on the gauge. No indication at all that there is a speed limiter. 200kph was fast enough for me. Besides, when does anyone need to go that fast.
124 MPH? That's about 10 MPH faster I have been able to go on any Harley to date. My breakin will is actually over but I will hold out until I get my 1,000 fluids changed. That should be Wednesday after I get my stage 1 done. Dealer is doing stage 1, already paid for but my Indy will do the fluids for $160.

Speedo 124, actual speed was probably around 108-110 max, HD's speedo is less accurate the higher the speed.
I realize the speedo is usually off. On my last bike it was off by only 3kph at 160kph according to gps. If there is indeed a speed limiter the ECM would have shut off the fuel at whatever speed it is limited to. My speedometer indicated 200kph and the bike kept right on going.
There is a speed limiter. 114 I think. Something like that.
Correct......
The tech at the dealership that built my Stage 4 had to disconnect the VSS to allow the bike to hit the rev limiter and get the full output of the bike while doing the after build dyno run. It had been shutting off at 114 or so and he couldn't get the numbers he was expecting until he tricked the ECM and let it run past the built in speed limiter.
