Sorry if this is the wrong section, but since I usually only post here.....
I've read conflicting reviews about battery charger/maintainers. Some have said the after market ones will ruin your battery life. But, since the one harley has listed:
is only 33 bucks from surdyke, I guess I could still get this one.
Just wanting everyone's thoughts on a good product for winter "storage". Meaning it will be in my garage and probably ridden very rarely once colder days are here with the occasional day here and there when temperatures permit.
I keep mine plugged in all winter. Im not supposed to? Little help please, what do you do?
From what I was reading, trickle chargers can overcharge your battery resulting in very reduced life. And that kinda makes sense.
I had the battery tender brand trickle charger years og and used it on my honda cruiser. I know I had to replace that battery several times over the course of only about 6 to 7 years, but at the time I just attributed that to it being a honda and the fact that I didnt ride it much anyway. Hindsight, I would guess it was that charger.

Thanks, I have one similar to the one you have in the link, its not a harley brand though. That is what to use?

Yes. The description says it cycles itself on and off as needed. So your battery never overcharges because the tender shuts off when the battery is fully charged.
