So just to change subject a bit. Is there any actually "verified as effective" fix for this, using any available parts (not taking any warranty consequences into consideration)? I thought I read somewhere that a S&S oil pump and cam plate is a 100% effective fix. Is that actually true?

This is kind of my end question as well. Are there things that FIX sumping, or do they just move you further away from the Cliff. A Cliff that shouldn't be there to begin with.
Lots of self-righteousness being expressed this today.
Tick tock....tick tock....tick tock. That's the sound of the clock ticking down before the C.A.R.B. - California Air Resources Board comes knocking on the door of all those businesses that are located in California and selling products whose sole purpose is to undermine California emission laws. Tick tock....tick tock... tick tock....
The definition of a liar and a thief can be found in the dictionary and it is plain and simple. Liars misrepresent true facts, thieves take what is not there's by right. Heatwave clearly meets those definitions as he lied about the situation and got many thousands of dollars worth of benefits as a result of those lies. I think the vast majority, if not 100% of normal people would agree that what HW did was very dishonest and swindled the manufacturer out of a large amount of money as a result and that HW was NOT entitled to compensation. HW also knows the truth, that is why he executed his failed attempt at deleted posts. That was not done for fun, that was done to deceive.
Those are the facts, and before you reply with the same nonsense, YES I BELIEVE THAT SUMPING IS REAL, but I also believe in personal integrity. I am very sympathetic to all people having problems and I feel very badly when I hear their problems continue. HD has a way to go to solve this issue.
Now stop it. You are on every single thread bashing HD and everything they make. Everything from the M8 motor, to the rotors, extending all the way to forecasting the demise of the company in the Livewire threads and pretty much denigrating everything HD builds or sells . Don't you get tired of all the negativity? If you hate this company so much why don't you go away and spend your time elsewhere? Are you ok? Where is all the hate coming from?
I for one very much enjoy the M8 section and the valuable sharing and discussion that happens here. You have pretty much poisoned every thread with your negativity an I have you on ignore yet still you derail every thread and steer it into the toilet. Like you did to this one. You have single handedly ruined this section for the rest of us. Moderators please stop this guy.

Based on the experiences over on CVOHarley, I do not believe there has yet been a guaranteed way to 100% prevent sumping in all M8 engines. Each oil pump design has reduced the odds but not eliminated the risk of sumping. None of the after market M8 oil pump producers will guarantee their products will eliminate sumping. And there are now a couple examples of an M8 with the sealed oil pump still resulting in sumping.
IMO, until there is a redesign of the M8 case with a focus on preventing sumping, there will remain a risk of sumping under the right circumstances on some M8 engines. Which one's?? ...you'll need to ask Harley.

What did you have to do to get your bike back to warranty compliance?
Since I'm sure an honest answer will not be forthcoming, I'll point this out -- when asked this before, he squirmed, wriggled, writhed, dodged, deflected, and then finally confessed that he bought a new ECM and replaced the PowerVision-flashed ECM with a new one.
Not that that would be, you know, destroying evidence or anything...
EDIT: I see Steve Cole already addressed this.

Steve, I see Tman working on a case modification, I hear people focused on cylinder bores, I see HD focused on Oil pumps... I am pretty sure it was you that informed me a long time ago, an M8 should never sump under any condition. With that, it seems to me there are many things that can make sumping worse or come on, but there is also a root cause, like say the case design(I don't know this for sure, it's what I've heard on here). That said, doesn't that mean that all M8's are affected, but not all M8's will observe the effect unless they are put under that right condition?
I used a cliff analogy a few days ago. It seems like there are things that can move you away from the cliff.. But to remove the cliff a redesigned case needs to happen. That may sound like a statement, but I am really only asking.
I believe there are design flaws that allow this to happen. In the world I come from its called a marginal design. If anything else happens (as things do when going full production) the wrong way, you get into trouble quickly. So far it appears to me that HD is running around trying to place band-aids to stop the bleeding but not chasing down what the root cause is. I could cover all the things I've posted about this again, but it doesn't really do any good as it's just my opinion and not fact. What I do know for a fact is this is just why we have not produced some product we did back in 2016 as we knew the finger pointing would begin and just did not want to become part of it. If you modify your bike, put your big boy pants on and own up to it and deal with it. HD used to be pretty good about knowing when something had nothing to do with an issue they had and would handle it, That all changed in 2016 with the release of the 2017 M8 models, IMHO they are hiding behind the EPA to get out of handling the problems they have created all by themselves,
This is kind of my end question as well. Are there things that FIX sumping, or do they just move you further away from the Cliff. A Cliff that shouldn't be there to begin with.
The S&S pump seems to address the issue with dual pickup pumps, vs the stock with a single. Have a look. FWIW.

I don't think we can say that. I believe VDeuce installed the Fueling pump and plate and that it resolved his sumping issues. But I'm also pretty sure I've read that there was at least one or two guys who installed the S&S, and had sumping, and called S&S on it, and S&S reportedly said something on the order of "we never promised it would fix sumping". That's all hearsay, but so far, that's all I remember hearing/reading about it.

I had a 114" build I just did sump on the dyno with the S&S oil pump and cam plate.
