at this point and under these circumstances, if ever a full 7 year ESP was warranted this should be a no brainer..I mean you basically bought their Lexus model
I had stage 4 upgrade kit installed by dealer in Wyoming they called me and told my bike was ready and to pick her up, i left the shop and didnt make it a quarter mile away and it began to loose power and made a high pitch whistle and then shut off. they picked me up and took bike back into shop tore her apart and found the mech. left a rag in lower end, WHAT SHOULD I DO???
Take the bike back for a new engine...on the dealer of course. If they give you any guff call the Mothership and tell them what one,of their dealers did and then wouldn’t replace the engine.
I would not let them fix it unless they completely tear the engine down along with all the hoses and ancillary places oil goes.

Well maybe it looks ok with that paint set. Just looks kinda funky when it's not.

Don't let them forget the oil cooler.
Sumping is when oil is not pulled out of the crankcase by the return side of the oil pump, ends up overheating the engine, can do a lot of damage quickly. The M8's have had problems with it, especially when a stage 3 or 4 kit has been installed. If you search it on the M8 forum, this forum, you will find quite a few threads on it.

Am I missing something here? The mechanic left a rag in your motor, you made it less than a mile from the dealer, and the motor seized. You're wondering why they want to rebuild the motor? Seriously? What else would they do to it?
It has nothing to do with how many miles were on it when you dropped it off. They left a rag in it. It's fu**ed.
somebody please point out to me in the video below where a full size shop rag could go that the motor would run for more than 30 seconds with a rag inside it. I don't think I'm following the OP
