I have a 2019 ULTRA, and am having an issue starting it in gear. Even with the clutch pulled in, the bike jumps forward with the starter engaged.
I believe I read on a post somewhere that this was tied into sumping or fluid transfer, but could not find the post again.
Any help with this one?
If its just a slight lurch they all do that. If its more than that get it fixed.
We have a several feet of snow here, so I was in the garage, but the bike did not actually start, I released the start switch when it lurched forward. I will push it all the way back to the garage door and try it a little longer, and that should give me a little more reaction time
Start it in neutral . If it does it there you need a clutch adjustment.
I Put it in neutral and it started right up. Shut her down, popped it into first gear, started her back up, there was a slight lurch, and then she started, and stayed still.
All is well, but for the winter blues....
Thanks, Gentlemen.
Also, with multiple feet of snow, I presume you arent riding it. Why are you starting it?
I got spooked by several posts, and have been going over everything. I noticed that there was a switch issue that did not allow some bikes to start in gear, so I wanted to check it out.... Plus I cannot seem to keep from jumping in the saddle and making vroom noises, lol...

Yeah, not good to start the bike in the winter if you cant get it up to operating temp. I understand the temptation tho. I'd say just let it sit until you can ride it to the dealer and have them check it out. If it needs adjustment, its a warranty issue.
It's a 19, so there is no clutch adjustment. My guess is it's cold, so the clutch discs were stuck a little with the cold oil. Running it in neutral flung the oil off the clutch. Starting again with clutch pulled would stop the lurch because there is less oil between the clutch discs.
