I just got a 2020 SGS last week. I have a rather smallish garage. The first few days of parking it in the garage, I did not notice a fuel smell. However, today, after parking it in the garage and letting it sit for a while, I noticed a fairly strong fuel smell. I looked the bike over and couldn't see any leaks and nothing on the floor under the bike. Is this common ? Any ideas on what could be causing this ?

there's a vent and if it's overfilled you will smell it
If your tank is 1/2 full or lower, you will probably smell the gas fumes as the heat of the engine when parked heats up the gas in the tank and causes venting.
Two thing to try:
1. let the bike sit outside and cool down before putting it away in the garage.
2. Fill the tank up with gas prior to putting it away as a fuller tank will not heat up as much as an near empty tank so the venting will not occur as much.
My garage is so small, the motorcycle will stink up half the house if you open the door to the garage. Buy a high velocity fan, like $50 at Lowes. Turn it on for 10 min after you get back. Turn it off and shut the garage door.
This is by design. Cali and HDI models have an evaporative purge canister that that is vented from the fuel tank. How goes Cali so goes the world they say ( barf) Next time you pull up alongside a semi truck look at the upper part of the LHS hood, or door pillar. You will see a hologram sticker with the state of California on. Certified Clean Idle. All class 6,7,8, trucks on the North American Continent must have.It has a serial number. It costs $700.00 to replace and woe be unto you if a D.O.T. trooper or scale master notices it's missing. You will get in less trouble for murder.
