I Did Not Know This:

After much research it blew me away to find that: The Harley SuperPremium5 black oil filter is actually 6 Microns and the SuperPremium5 Chrome oil filter is 5 Microns. Same size, same description, Does anyone out there know why this is? Thanks

On Harleys web site:

It is in there new section of harley parts store. or you can google Harley SuperPremium5 6 micron and it gives you the black one. google Harley SuperPremium5 5 Micron it gives you the chrome one. It give this to you right on Harley-Davidsons web site.

I think they are lying. I`ve heard that the black filter is 6.2047 microns...

Seriously, 6 microns versus 5 microns....this is just too ridiculous.

The 63731-99A is 5 . The 63793-01K is 10. In the Genuine accessories book . On line it states 10 for both. No biggie. if you can see it, it will catch it. If it's too small to see, then you will catch it.

Hmmm...interesting. I'd have guessed they were the same. Might mean they don't come from the same vendor. I'd have guessed the black one to be better functionally but I guess I don't have a good reason to think that...and I'd have been wrong. Makes me feel better about being vane and buying the chrome one every time.
