Alaska - Going Solo.
1. That road up to Dease Lake.......I saw a sign saying 55 for speed. Huh? I did not say Km or MPH. Maybe it was not a speed sign. But 55 km is only like 35 mph. Do you remember what speed you were going? In miles per hour?
2. Was it fun. You are on that like for 1K+ miles. 2 lane. Looks NICE but boring as all hell after a while. No real scenery like much for lakes or Mtns on that road. Do I have it wrong?
3. There seems to be fuel. Every 170 miles you think?
4. Not much for lodging either it seems. REAL lodging not an RV Campground.
Can you address the above items?

I just came across this north of Whistler.
.
.
Really? That is the speed? I know the road is 2 lane and turns alot and sure, there are road kills and maybe something live........but 60km/h? Basically 37 MPH the whole way? WTF?
The speed limits around Whistler are very restricted… A very busy road… And the speed limits are strictly enforce… Once you get north of Pemberton than most places it’s about 100 km an hour, which is 62 miles an hour…
once you get into the northern part of British Columbia, there’s lots of bumps and frost heaves along the way… Most of the time I was travelling between 50 and 60 mph… If you want to travel faster take up an adventure touring motorcycle, you’ll need the longer suspension.
you can usually find fuel about every hour to an hour and a half… But never drive past an open gas station without topping up…
don’t feel special, nobody has heard of Dease Lake… It’s a one horse town, and the horse is a cripple… there’s a good motel there, I would strongly suggest booking a couple of days before, it’s also used as a construction So it can fill up very quickly especially in the summer. I Would suggest going into Stewart like I did, there’s accommodation there… and the drive in from Meziadin Junction is a bucket list Road… The next decent place is Dease lake… Then its Whitehorse. There are other places to stay along the way, a beautiful lodge at Bell 2… But expect to pay large dollars.
there is nothing boring about the ride in any part of it… Big mountains, beautiful lakes… Devoid of traffic... read the post from where I marked it, and look at the pictures… It’s all gorgeous big beautiful country and the time of year that you’re talking about going there will still be snow in the mountains… That’s when I went up.

...The Yukon... Kluane Lake...
...Matanuska Glacier, Alaska... northeast of Anchorage
Was told definitely by 1 of the main guys I am traveling with, he is making a firm stance, NO CA since it is NO FIREARMS.
1. That does NOT mean anything changes. Then we lose him at the border.
2. I will look at other alternatives briefly since this is MY ride and going to Whistler is important.
3. Maybe he that other rider can ferry to AK from the state of Washington. Which means he may need to make ferry reservations soon.
You see guys, I really like Whistler. So much, I ride there and have taken the family there. But normally, I go to the top of Whistler, pick up 99 and swing right/east and come down to Kamloops and to points beyond.
No worries my friends. This is all percolating. GOOD info!!
