2. Was it fun. You are on that like for 1K+ miles. 2 lane. Looks NICE but boring as all hell after a while. No real scenery like much for lakes or Mtns on that road. Do I have it wrong?

3. There seems to be fuel. Every 170 miles you think?

4. Not much for lodging either it seems. REAL lodging not an RV Campground.

Can you address the above items?

I just came across this north of Whistler.

.
Really? That is the speed? I know the road is 2 lane and turns alot and sure, there are road kills and maybe something live........but 60km/h? Basically 37 MPH the whole way? WTF?

The speed limits around Whistler are very restricted… A very busy road… And the speed limits are strictly enforce… Once you get north of Pemberton than most places it’s about 100 km an hour, which is 62 miles an hour…

once you get into the northern part of British Columbia, there’s lots of bumps and frost heaves along the way… Most of the time I was travelling between 50 and 60 mph… If you want to travel faster take up an adventure touring motorcycle, you’ll need the longer suspension.

you can usually find fuel about every hour to an hour and a half… But never drive past an open gas station without topping up…

don’t feel special, nobody has heard of Dease Lake… It’s a one horse town, and the horse is a cripple… there’s a good motel there, I would strongly suggest booking a couple of days before, it’s also used as a construction So it can fill up very quickly especially in the summer. I Would suggest going into Stewart like I did, there’s accommodation there… and the drive in from Meziadin Junction is a bucket list Road… The next decent place is Dease lake… Then its Whitehorse. There are other places to stay along the way, a beautiful lodge at Bell 2… But expect to pay large dollars.

there is nothing boring about the ride in any part of it… Big mountains, beautiful lakes… Devoid of traffic... read the post from where I marked it, and look at the pictures… It’s all gorgeous big beautiful country and the time of year that you’re talking about going there will still be snow in the mountains… That’s when I went up.

Let me add this obs from driving and flying the Lower 48>BC>AK both ways a few times. BC is beautiful country. Alaska is not so much. Don't hurry through Canada expecting a better rainbow at the end. It's not here. We have a land that early trans east asian to lower latitude migrants 14K+ years ago left for whatever reason. Glaciers created Canada more than Alaska. It's nice to see both but for me the beauty still lies south.

BC, North of Dease Lake...

...The Yukon... Kluane Lake...

...Matanuska Glacier, Alaska... northeast of Anchorage

TY CR & PA. VERY helpful.

Was told definitely by 1 of the main guys I am traveling with, he is making a firm stance, NO CA since it is NO FIREARMS.

1. That does NOT mean anything changes. Then we lose him at the border.
2. I will look at other alternatives briefly since this is MY ride and going to Whistler is important.
3. Maybe he that other rider can ferry to AK from the state of Washington. Which means he may need to make ferry reservations soon.

You see guys, I really like Whistler. So much, I ride there and have taken the family there. But normally, I go to the top of Whistler, pick up 99 and swing right/east and come down to Kamloops and to points beyond.

No worries my friends. This is all percolating. GOOD info!!

Your mention of Dease Lake & Bell 2 brings back some good memories. I've stayed in both. I lucked up and got the last room at the Northway Motor Inn @ Dease Lake one night. There was a bar restaurant next door that also rented a few rooms. Anyway it was a place to grab a meal and a few cold ones after a good days ride. I remember that the gas station / convience store closed up early and the cars, trucks, and campers where lined up at the pumps waiting for it to open the next morning. The room at Bell 2 was the most expensive of my trip. Beautiful place if you don't mind sleeping in a bed with mosiquto neting over it. It's also another place to grab a meal and it has fuel too. When I was there the only telephone service was thru their satellite phone hookup that you also paid dearly for use. I heard their big with people into heli skiing.

BC7. I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I used this website for my planning. I actually ordered a hardcopy of the magazine and carried it with me.

1. In the Whistler Village Stroll, WHICH restaurant has the BEST food? I LOVE LOVE LOVE that stroll. Kind of like Diagon Alley in HP. LOL

I have been looking at reviews. The burger place with the tables/fire outside is NICE but their food was blah. No on spaghetti and sushi. Anything comes to mind 1st. OH BBQ!!!???

2. The Jasper Ice Fields........and (I think is separate but near by) Jasper Lake. I hear tell the Ice Fields are a MUST?

All the information I'm seeing is making me question whether it'll be wise to travel to the Artic Circle sign two up and loaded on the UL?
