Has anyone used the Harley Windshild #57331-07 Quick Release Detachable Super Sport Windshield on a 2007 FXDSE ? I can see that it is not a very tall windshield and am wondering what your experience has been with it.
I had a similar one for my '06 Deuce, I loved the clamps, they work great!
The windshield worked great also, about the only time I used it was on cold days in the fall and winter just to keep some wind off me, I probably only used it 5 times.
I didn't like the way the bike looked with a windshield on it, and I won't be getting one for my SE Springer......
I use this windshield and love it. I think it looks really good on the bike and it gets lots of compliments (for a windshield). You are right though, itis not tall. I wear a full face helmet andthe visoris full of bugs all the time. My friend has the same bike, same windshield and she says that the wind is always pulling back her helmet and she gets hit with a lot of bugs. The windshield definitely helps to keep the wind off and for long trips that is always less tiring. I only use the windshield for road trips so I love that it is easy to take off and does not leave any hardware behind.

I have this windshield on my 2007 FXDSE and it is hands down the best looking windshield money could buy for THIS bike - HOWEVER it does NOT keep the wind off your face - it directs the wind directly onto your face (I'm 5'10" tall). I sent the windshield and brackets to Clearview Shields in Colorado and they made me a custom piece of glass to screw onto the brackets - NOW I have an excellent performing windshield that still looks good (plus I still have my original piece of glass I can screw back on in 5 minutes if I want a sexy looking windshield for around town riding).
Yes I got one last fall when I got my bike, it is too small. I found a company named Clearview Shields out of Colorado who has built me two windshields that fit the great HD brackets. One that is wider and taller and another that is much taller and wider for colder temps. I have ridden 125 mph several times racing buddies and have had no problems with the windshield. email me if you want some pictures or specifics. tstahly@a5.com
