Fuel moto likes the Woods cams, WM-22x series. For drop in, the CR-460 or 480 the torque comes on easier and a little bit more from what I have seen. That said Woods has some very good drop in cams, especially the WM-22x or 22xe
And if sound plays any part of the equation the CR 480 sounds much better than the 22x series.

Good to know... Yes, sound does play a part of the equation. Think I'll go CR 480 based of your guys recommendations

The 22-XD has a rowdy idle lope too. It's low end torque is dips a little lower, but the HP is a bit higher.

For a bagger, I would probably stick with the 22X or XE, or the already-mentioned CR-480.

ok....how nice is this bonus?

you know I love my sound system and it was only about 2100 installed.....it has served me for about 40k miles and has made every mile more enjoyable

anything is better than the overpriced boomgate crap

as for a cam, if I were close to you, i'd let you hop on my '17 117 with an SE 498...it starts pulling hard at about 2500 RPMs and holds steady just about to the rev limiter

but brother, priorities....get rid of that oem audio

Not to derail my own thread I think I can do that though right? lol

I believe you and I have chatted about his in the past. Last fall I almost pulled the trigger on Soundz. Well last week I checked back with one of their dealers just south of me. It went up $400 for the same system then it was last fall. I should have got it last fall. The problem I have is that I don't want to piece components together and try to have to figure out all the wiring. I'm OK with audio, but I don't think to that extent. I want a "Plug-n-Play" system. In doing a lot of research it seems you have Soundz or you have RF. (The RF system is not worth the money) All the audiofile guys in the Audio section are having their meet and greet 30 miles from me. (They did last year too). I asked last year if any of them were willing to help put a decent system in my bike while here. I didn't get any takers. I'd have paid them too.

The Soundz Dealer just south of me does winter work and he said he'd come up into my garage and install the Carbons system. I just have to swallow that I could have done it last year for $400 less... and last year I was already grinding my teeth on the price tag.

I 110% agree though that once again the MoCo put a 3rd rate audio system into a "Premium" bike. It sounds horrible.

I inquired about the Soundz system in the audio section here and kaboom……I got blown up! Needless to say the audio section is not a fan of Soundz at all

check around the car stereo shops in your area, many of them work on Harley’s now. I had a local shop do the amp and speakers with quality components on my second bike for $1300, they did a great job.

Ya, I pretty much found out the same thing last year. I don't know if it really is they don't like the sound or it is just they don't think it a good value for the money.

I have and that is where I got the RF plug-n-play system option. I want to make sure anything I get installed is bike weather friendly, not just car audio components. There is only a couple reputable audio dealers in the area that would deal with car/bike audio components. Maybe i'll branch out a bit. I also sent emails out to a couple installers in other states that I watched on YouTube. See if they have plug-in-play systems they install.

On the original thread topic. I got a quote back from FM. Just curious... Is it necessary or just a good idea to replace the oil pump and cam plate? I just noticed that was a part of the quote and was curious if that is just a good idea to do since it's tore down or if it's necessary. I can ask them on Monday as well.

On early ‘19 models and back I would always change the oil pump and cam plate. Starting with late ‘19 builds it looks like HD finally figured out the oil pump issue. Also since they are doing the other work and have the bike torn down it’s cheap insurance. I think the new HD pump is only a couple hundred dollars.
