Default Plug wires off

OK, plug wires off, circuit breaker off, rolled it over for 5 seconds with the button and the wire from battery to the solenoid had zero warmth.

Default Circuit breaker

Just for grins I put the circuit breaker back in and turned it upside down (copper terminal not on battery but on wire to solenoid). It tripped again, but the little it did turn over, you could feel warmth in the breaker.

All the big cables particularly the grounds. Something is pulling some heavy current, without the meter this is a way to narrow the suspects a bit.

Burnt contacts ( caused by heavy amp draw for several reasons) in the big relay or solenoid will cause the activation pull in coil (fed by the breaker) to draw more amps to hold engaged. Heat is a by product of this.

You have a volt meter. Test, then fix. Better yet, here is a page of choices for V drop starter testing.
