FXEF SuperGlide Dash Mounting
Will a SuperGlide dash as mounted on a FXEF Fat Bob with 3-1/2 gallon tanks fit on 5 gallon tanks mounted on the same bike? I have a line on a nice, original set of 5 gallon O.E.M. tanks for $150.00. I always wanted to increase the driving range as I am rural and gas stations are not on every corner. I guess I should ask, but assume the tanks will bolt right up as well? Merry Christmas

1984 FXEF. The reason I ask is I don't believe I ever saw the Superglide style speedometer / tach with 5 gallon tanks. Everyone usually puts an older FLH style speedo / dash with 5 gallon tanks. The tanks are off of a 1982. The only difference I think is the bayonet style caps, which are included and my screw-in caps.

I've done and it works fine with either an FX dash or an FL dash. The only thing you might run into is air cleaner clearance on the right side. As I remember the clearance on the left side with the rocker box was ok.

If this helps I've got 5 gallon tanks with the FXEF dash cluster along with an S&S E Carb and S&S Air Filter assy on my 79 FXEF with no clearance problems

That helps very much. Thanks. I hope I like the looks and fit with the 5 gals. If not I will still have my 3-1/2 gallon tanks. My 1984 FXEF FatBob SuperGlide is tiny beside my 2006 FXSTI, Softail Standard EFI. It weighs 200 pounds less too!! Gotta love a Shovel!
