Curious about your front axle being so far in lower leg. Shouldn't it stick out about 3/4" and have an exposed through hole in it?

My 83. There's a shoulder on the axle that limits how far it can pass though the hub.

I probably won't use them, they only slow me down. LOL

That's odd, I think mine is stock, and is the same as my 79. The parts book doesn't show a hole in the axle either. Possible you changed yours a long time ago?

The back wheel is a 16", don't think any FX came with an 18" wheel. Old Ironheads did though.

I had a hard time finding the right bolts for the sprocket, but finally got it done! The rotor bolts were like new so I re-used them after cleaning and zinc plating.

The original was hub powder coated, looks good against all the chrome and shiny zinc.

Some beauty shots:

I am going on some rides the next couple days, so it'll be Sunday before I take it off the lift and really show it off!

As promised, I got the bike outside today. The guy doing the motor said he's going to finish it up this week or next. I hope he's right. Otherwise it'll be all electric, haha.
