Is there a better exhaust-to-header gasket available???
I'm using aftermarket header pipes which don't align very well with the exhaust ports. So to compensate, I have been using 2 or 3 gaskets to get a proper seal. Does anyone know of a better solution? Ideally, I'm looking for something about a 1/4" thick with a bit of flexibility to allow it to shape itself to the 2 surfaces. Thanks.
2 different products the ultra gray sold by the box stores - forget what it says its for as it does a real good job with sealing exhaust - gaskets and pipe to pipe
then the black - the Right Stuff - its called in a tube also found in box stores is another really great sealer for anything - 0 BUT - its a thing getting it apart as its real good sealing anything - just so you know we have used a rubber hammer on some stuff to brake its seal
I have been using Genuine James Knitted Wire Exhaust Seals #65834-98-X2, they are better than stock gaskets, Twin Cam style but sized for a Shovelhead.
I have been using the original copper crush ring port side of an asbestos flat gasket flange side with pretty good luck. I believe 65834-68 was designed for the seal but I find I still need a flange gasket.
Can the pipes be bent to fit? Otherwise your kind of waiting for Rube Goldberg problem.
There are some muffler shops that might fix it. I haven''t seen them for awhile.
Probably easier to find some that fit.

yes with a pipe bender. ive done it my rear pipe was at the wrong angle
Thanks everyone for your comments. Being that the gap (on the rear cylinder only) is fairly wide, I think the best solution will be to fabricate an flange-insert of some sort. With that in place, I will then use standard gaskets on each side of it to complete the seal.
