Anybody have any cool ideas for a covering that would go with the bikes army theme?
Maybe some type of a small embossed branch insignia? Like crossed rifles or cannons? I think if you want to nail old school though I'd go with what SLV has.
Well I made the trip to Hollister California, to the Corbin factory. I got there on Wednesday morning to have a custom seat made for my Slim S. I was there around 15 years ago to have a seat built for my Suzuki Bandit, and it was a great experience, and the best seat I have had to date. I quickly fell out of love with my Mustang wide solo seat, after going on a 4 day ride with three friends a few weeks back. The foam if way too soft for any kind of distance. I did love the backrest though.
Lucky for me Corbin had just recently received a Slim S in army fatigue from Harley. They had three seats made for the bike just before I had arrived. We started with the solo pan and foam, and messaged the foam to fit my butt perfectly. There was a custom bike builder there from the area that helped me design the seat cover. We went with a distressed black leather, with cream piping, and stitching to tie in with the cream tank star. Same treatment for the backrest. Well let's just say that I am glad to be back with Corbin. Firm foam, is the only way to go. The seat also has a lock on it so the seat needs a key to take it off.

Two great guys that helped everything work out.

Very nice. I'm waiting on a Mustand solo right now. Does that seat pug you are farther forward then a stock or the mustang? Are you able to order seats from them without making the trip to the factory?

Thanks. It sits me about the same distance away as my Mustang. Yes you can go on there site and buy their stock seat and have the cover any way you like it, according to what they have in stock for material. I drove over 2500 miles to go to the factory, and it was well worth the drive. I was going to British Columbia anyways, so I just detoured a bit.

That seat is super super nice. Material, piping and shape are all a perfect match for the bike.
It looks comfortable too.
FWIW, I had the same Mustang wide vintage seat on my Dyna and found the same as you. It was great for about an hour, then quickly became awkward feeling due to the softness.

Thanks man. I was thinking of you when we picked distressed leather. You suggested that in the thread. My bike now feels perfect finally.
