Well, shoot...not running today. Need to replace the oring seal for the carb float bowl. Another trip to the Harley store tomorrow where they call me by my first name.
Brakes bled and done. The Hawg Halter is a PITA to bleed. Two bleeder screws on the backside and smaller than usual. They apparently chose form over function.
I could use a day off anyway. Working on a little **** Creek instead.
Don't do cigars. **** Creek is gone. Working on Don Julio 1942 tequila. Mighty tasty! And listening to Edgar Winter "They Only Come Out At Night" on LP and tube amp.
It's alive! Started right up and nothing burst into flames. Ran it up and down the drive way a few times to check brakes, clutch, etc. I'll check it over tomorrow for leaks.
First ride today, about 50 miles. Nothing fell off as far as I know. Running great!
Ride is stiffer and better control with the new shocks but I expected that. The originals were just about gone so can't say the new ones are any better than stock. There is less dive on hard stops and the bouncy ride in the back is gone. Might have to back off on the preload a little but I'll put some more miles on first. The shocks will probably soften up a little after a few thousand miles. Good upgrades if your shocks are shot and they cost less than stock.
Hawg Halter front brake is better than stock but not a night/day difference.
