Default rubber bellows on forks (dust covers)

how hard are they to install on a BO? i really like the look of them and gives me an excuse to powdercoat the triples.

While you're waiting,, .

Day before yesterday I redid the front suspension on my '14 BO, removing brake calipers, front wheel, fender and forks. Its pretty simple and straight forward if you have the necessary tools and torque values (Service Manual). Just remember to index the ABS sensor indexing pin against the lower fork protrusion when you put it all back together.

If you ask on the "Everything Breakout Thread" you'll no doubt get a link to the fork boot job itself.

No abs so i'm good on that. My biggest issue with the BO thread is it is very difficult to find specific info. It is hundreds of pages.

No problem Bro, I've been recently interfacing with LA so had an sense of where to find the post quickly.

When you do your job, can you give us an update here ? I'm just wondering how these affix to the forks top and bottom, if they do.

don't know if i am going to do it. it is a lot of work for just a cosmetic mod that most seem to say the gaiters (apparently that's what they are called) don't hold up for very long. they last a few months and then you are cutting them off. and as far as i can tell from my google searches they are simply held on with zip ties both top and bottom.

JD- the complete disassembly info for forks is in the suspension upgrade sticky at top of softail forum (it's actually not that hard to do). I put a set of those gaiters on when I redid my front suspension. Rode with them on for about a month. checked under them and they were trapping dirt in there so I promptly cut them off with a razor blade.

IMO not really worth it. I think they look better on 'the other guys' bike
