look at the edge of the tire on the 240, the edge drops down to the rim, there's about a 1 inch of unused tire surface area. if you lean the bike over that far, would it just go over. never rode with such a big tire, that would concern me. how well do the bike handle with such a huge tire on the back and a skinny one up front

Your right it's a horrible tire, you hit a certain point and you feel the roll-over, like a bump..HD put the same tire on the Rocker, I've even replaced mine with the same one, not knowing how bad it was until I put the Metz on the Breakout. My Rockers getting new wheels before long, and I will be losing those POS Dunlops..
Here's the one on my Rocker now, just a weird shape!! It's like they were making a narrower tire and decided to stretch the edges out and call it a 240??
and the Metz 260 on the BO...a lot more rubber on the road!!

the radius and compound of the stock dunlops are (no exaggeration) the worst I've ever seen and ridden on. good news is once you ditch them for better tires, you'll *really* be happy.

now that's a damn good question- sorry, forgot you were going 23". do you know the rim width- 3.5" or 4"? that will help with determining tire size and profile. I'm pretty sure PM would have some some advice on what tires work well with that large of rim. their tech are pretty sharp guys.

Rocker B, the 260 looks a TON better on the Breakout than the stocker IMO! And my front is 23x3.5. Good point on contacting PM, I will see what they have to say!

Thanks man. Yep the paint guy did quite a decent job...it's not like 100% flawless but hey, it's still a human being doing the job an no robot And it's really individual.

In any case it's a good advice and money well invested to get rid of the stock tires as soon as possible, JMO.
I didn't wait for the stockers to be worn down before I changed for the Metz....have never regretted that.

+1 I ripped those crap tires off a month or so after owning the bike. to me it was more of a safety concern, damn skippiest back tire and worst turning front tire on the planet! On bikes there are three things I never skimp on- tires, brakes and suspension. those components mean the difference between crash and crash avoidance, even if it's only by a slim margin I want all possible performance on my side.
here's a bit of fat tire inspiration - 300mm on an 07 softail:
