Here we are with the reflectors, badges, and belt shroud removed! Again, not much of a change but we have to start somewhere!
Also, I added a photo of a friends bike where he scratched a tank removing some HD emblems. My friend said it was a very stupid and impatient move! My friend feels like an idiot, and wonders what you guys would do to fix this? Just some black paint touch up where the actual paint got scratched??
Pretty boring thread so far guys I know. The big changes are coming! Just waiting for the wheels to get in! Went to the dealership and got the rear tire changed to the 260 yesterday! Also, got a price quote on the clear lenses with bulbs. $65? Seem decent?
I will make sure on the next visit that we will be matching front and rear tires if possible.
Man that sucks!! I guess you could have it re-painted, or find a set of badges you like (or can live with) and cover it up. I think just a touch up would still be noticeable.
bummer on the scratches - just get a set of ol school HD bar / shield emblems and slap em on. pretty reasonable for a set on ebay.
if you're going to get a new tire for the stock from wheel be sure it is a 120/70. bike will turn a lot better than with the stock 130/60. but I think you mentioned doing a 23" front wheel right? [edit] nevermind I re-read your post. those wheels are gonna look sick. hope the front fender still fits.
Congrats on your new breakout. Looking forward to seeing your build. There are lots of great guys on here with some great knowledge, if you ever need anything just ask. I'm sure somebody will be able to help you out. Sorry to hear about the scratches. Live and learn.
Thanks for the responses guys! How many posts do I need before I can post the pics? Got around to removing the reflectors, belt guards and HD logos on the tank. All went relatively easy, dumb me tried to use an insulated flathead though for the first HD emblem, scratched the clearcoat and paint on the right side. Oh well, live and learn. I used some wooden kabob skewers for the other side and it worked perfectly!!
Cant wait to upload the photos!

Your "friend" could just cover most of it with some cheesy generic HD badges, but seems that's the look you...oohhpps "your friend" were trying to change. Do yourself a favor and try as hard as you can to return it to 2016 BO stock specs....will be the best choice. If you didn't butch the original badges too bad you may be able to reinstall them.
Nice in black! My Breakout used to look exactly like that..
Lol, mine never did as I had my dealer do some significant mods already BEFORE I picked the bike up

That's pretty bad! Can't think of anything that would make those scratches invisible but to do as the others suggested and get some other HD badges. He should wait until the mods are nearly finished though to find some badges that match the overall style of the bike then.

Those look like the stock Dunlop 240/40. If you change to the Metzler 260/40 would it be possible to post side by side pictures of the stock Dunlop vs. Metzler (from the back). Want to see if there is really a noticeable difference in appearance. Thanks in advance.
The chip is far more noticeable with my super awesome Iphone 6! Lol Really though its livable as it sits. Just need to make the rest of the bike nice enough to draw the attention off of it! Ha
And yes, I will definitely post some side by sides. The wheels should be in at the end of this month or first week of April. Ill drop it off on Monday, and hopefully will get to ride her home on Friday!
Another question... I am going to have a TON of basically new parts I am taking off of the stock Breakout. These are all mostly the parts everyone is mod'ing though. What can I do with all of the stock parts? I plan on keeping the bike for quite awhile. With as much begging I had to do to convince the wife, she would kill me if i changed my mind! So im not worried about re-installing the parts.
