I'm about to install Custom Dynamics .7" INTEGRATED 3 SECTION LED TRUFLEXŽ LIGHT BAR under the rear fender on my 2012 Slim. I don't have a service manual, thus I'm not sure where to make the connections at. I will probably just tap into the existing wires using their Posi-Taps. Any hints?
I had the same questions while installing a Custom Dynamics brake light under the rear fender of my '13 Slim.
In my case I was looking for a "dedicated" brake light wire, since the Slim didn't come with a center brake light.
I found it under the seat - seems the Softail wiring harnesses are the same on all bikes, but not all the wires are used on all models.
ie; the Fatboy has a center brake light, while the Slim didn't, but the wiring is still there.
And yeah, their Posi-Taps are definitely the way to go.
Good, easy connections that won't damage the harness.
