Harley batteries are made by Deka. You can get the same battery at O'Reilley.

In summary:
Not junk
Warrantied.
Cheaper to buy the one without the Harley branding on it.
the ones without harley branding are slightly larger. Often won't fit!! Grrrr. I checked last week comparing old hd battery to Duracell and it was 8th inch longer which believe it or not would not fit in her deluxe!

Went to start my 2018 Limited yesterday and my battery is dead. Jumped it and rode to Waco HD and they replaced it under warranty. Said they have to send it back to Harley and that there is some sort of issue with the new batteries.

I had similar issue. Charged battery with my deep cycle charger. Threw away the old battery tinder. Bought a "Battery Minder". This tinder is supposed to de-sulfate the battery. Since I did this I have had no issues. My battery was a little more than a year old.

If it's larger, then it might not be from the Deka or might be a slightly different model. I bought my last one at O'Reilly Auto and it's a perfect match for the OEM battery.
