Default Lowering FXSTC front end around 4 inches?

I have a 1990 fxstc. I would like to eventually put the heritage/fat boy trees and upper fork tubes on it but don’t wanna spend the money right now. Could I get a heritage drop in lowering kit and it work? Or will that lower it too much for the length of the stock tubes?

Lowering the front is like raising the rear...beware of a higher speed wobble.

I have air ride in the rear so I’m not worried about that I just want the front lower and don’t wanna have to double buy things.

I don`t get it, the Heritage fork tubes and sliders are not the same diameter as the fork tubes and sliders on your bike.

Heritage Drop In Lowering Kit?

Heritage Drop In Lowering Kit?
yes....41mm? 22.25 length for the flst and the fx has 24.25 length. So a “drop in kit” progressive lowering kit will have shorter springs. For the heritage than the fx’s

Yes you can use the same kit for both bikes. Progressive lists the part # as 10-2003, but Progressive is out of stock. Progressive states: Pull up to two inches out of the front end of your bike without the hassle of disassembling the forks or even changing out the oil and the whole process can be done with basic tools!

Fits:
PRODUCTS : 1990 HARLEY DAVIDSON FXST/FLST - Standard / Custom / Heritage / Heritage Classic / Heritage Nostalgia / Fat Boy / Night Train

Your only going to get 2" out of this kit, but you can also change the front wheel to lower it some more. Good luck on your project.

yeah I was looking more at the kits and noticed it worked for both. I thought they were different kits. Thanks for the help! I’ll just go with that one till I can get the shorter fork tubes and trees.

You can only drop so much in the front before you start dealing with the fender hitting the lower tree and a really rough ride. I would take the 2" out of the suspension and then switch over to a 16" front wheel to get the rest, that way you have a cushion for any unforeseen big bumps. Talked to a guy Saturday who lowered the front of his Street Glide when he put his 21" wheel kit on and he hit a huge bump and creased his newly painted custom fender. Sucks that he just paid some company 5 grand to do the work and now they have to fix it......Good luck on your project.

Yeah that wouldn’t be good. Lucky for me, I don’t have a front fender so I don’t need to worry about that. I’d actually like to get a 21x3.5 front wheel so I can run a larger profile tire in it.
