Default brake pad bolt

Does anyone know what size socket fits the bolts circled in picture. They're the bolts that secure brake pads 2003 Fatboy. Hopefully not some special size. Thanks!

On my Deuce those are 1/4" 12pt. Don't try it with a standard socket, that will bugger it.
I never understood why everything on the forks were metric except those two. Just bizarre.

I just checked both my 2003 Heritage and 2001 Springer and the pad pins for the rear calipers on both take 1/4" 12 point sockets..

I recently did a brake job on the '03 and that's what I used...

The #44314-00 pad pins were used in various models, front and/or back calipers, from 2000 to about 2007...

I also just checked my 2003 service manual, and it calls for a 12 point .25" (1/4") socket for the pad pins, and to tighten them at 180-200 inch pounds.

I noticed while looking up the pad pins in the service manual, the caliper mounting bolts are listed as 10mm 12 point... go figure...

FWIW... a 6mm 12 point is 0.23622", so it's just a bit smaller than 1/4"... If all you have is metric 12 point sockets and a 6mm 12 point fits, use it, but I wouldn't force it on to make it to fit. I'd buy a 1/4" 12 point for the job... a 7mm (0.275591") 12 point would be too big and probably bugger up the pad pin head.

Very GOOD info and very accurate!! Sad part is, I have factory manuals, but there's no way you could've convinced me that would've been in there. Thanks, I really appreciate it!
