Hello, I got a 2008 heritage that I have no interest of getting rid of for a newer one. Ive done some forum searching, Facebook searching so I figured I start a new thread.
So my question is, is it possible to add cruise control to my bike? Who or where can I take my bike?
I know harley didnt offer for early softails but if a buddies 96 ultra converted to a trike have cruise control I would think its some what do-able.
I found that somebody from Customized Cycles..? use to put a kit together but after doing some research I came up short for a valid number, location or website.
I also found people talking about converting the throttle cables to throttle by wire. Id be interested going that route if it was possible.
I have no specifics and I'm sure smarter people than me will chime in soon, but probably with enough money you can do most anything.
Welcome to the forum!
Your bike does have an OEM CC - Not an electronic style one, but a mechanical friction design that works pretty well. Right under the throttle housing.

any help would be much appreciated thank you
I've never done anything like this, but I would start with whoever did the trike conversion on your buddies bike and see what they used.....
I've never heard of a kit, but that doesn't mean one didn't exist at one time or another.
You could start by gathering part numbers from an online parts finder, for a bike model of your same year/engine with cruise control.
Then see what would need to be changed on your bike... to possibly include a new ECM...
Anything that is on a 2008 cruise control bike, might well be compatible on your bike.... you would need maybe a new throttle body, maybe even a new harness, etc, etc.
I think at a certain point the cost doesnt justify the end result. I "think" the touring bikes had cruise starting at certain years due to them being the FBW. The softail and dynas had an actual cable in those same years. Good luck though. (disclaimer) I am a moron so take everything I just said with a grain of salt
