help rear pulley options 07 softtail
I now have a custom 2007 fatboy stock rear
i have about 40 years of experince on crotch rockets and a sportsers mopeds dirtbikes and such and do my own wrenching ..
well im a meat head
I made the mistake of going over the bike for loose bolts steering head was 270 degrees off !! plus found the rear pully bolts loose and i just ungdughad them tight by hand not 60 foot pounds then kicked it and said "thats good"
wellllll
I sheared all 5 bolts on my rear pulley sproket,
so
i like to modify things its a 66 tooth stock and wanted to go bigger for more tourque
i have a good 133 tooth belt on it now
i see a sporter 68t / 70t 1 inch wide pully might fit ???
sooo here is my question
all black prefered
with out machine work
1. where can I get a 68t or 70t rear pully under $300 that fits part #? what size spacer?
2. where can I get the proper pully bolts made better like arp , i think its 16-14 x 2-5/8" (longer shoulders) part #?
3. I looked at the belt tensioners bolts and seems I can easily fit a 68t sproket and keep the stock belt do you think i can keep stock belt with a 70T as well
and NO im not changing the front pully
of course i will use red locktite
and im aware its 3% ratio chage with 68t a but more on 70t i figgered if im replacing the broken pulley may as well get more pep..
thank you joe

Plenty of used rear pulleys out there on ebay, etc Most are aluminum and gray Paint it black.............Just use grade 8 bolts on your pulley, dont need arp's Not sure you need spacer to run a sporty rear pulley, but be sure the bolt pattern is the same for BT (I beleive it is)

highway riding but will decrease the eng torque at the rear wheel. Think of a 10 speed bicycle. The smaller the sprocket on the back, the slower (and harder it is to pedal)
