Hey all, first are these guys still in business? Checked their website and called their phone number and no luck with either! I bought the Throttler up in Sturgis and "I LOVE THE DAMN THING". Well built! That was in 2004 and I would still be using it to this day, problem is I changed out my grips to RSD Black Ops and now the Throttler won't fit and I miss the use of having that piece on my bike. Went to a very good machinist buddy with both parts to see if we could match them up and no luck. RSD throttle needs to be longer to work. So, I was wanting to contact these guys to see if they made one to fit Rolands parts. And the unit I have, I'll let it go for $100 and that includes the H-D soft grips. Thanks
The cruisemount thing sounds like the business, but their website makes we want to hurl so I didn't get very far. Sadly, not only the handlebar controls but also the "coffin" box look dog-ugly. So that combined with the price makes it a no-go for me.
I really like the idea of the brakeaway, but again it's pretty clunky. And I suspect if I start changing out mirrors, turn signals, handlebars etc. I will end up making an incompatible mod at some point.
I don't like the little lever throttle locks as they seem too fiddly to use, and I'm sure I would fail to unlock it properly in an emergency.
In the end I went with the cheap option: I bought the Kury ISO grips with the throttle boss (or whatever it is called). A little paddle on the throttle which I can lean the heal of my hand on to hold throttle position without gripping with my fingers. It means I can adjust my grip to keep the blood flowing in my hands; no worries in emergencies; doesn't add "clutter" to the handlebars and allows for easy throttle adjustment when you hit slopes etc. Sure, I can't take my hand off the throttle completely, but I don't find I need to do that. It works so well for me that I can't imagine even looking for an alternative solution any more. (And I LOVE to find things to spend money on!)
