I took a peice of 1/4" aluminum diamond plate, cut it the size of the license, left a tab on the side about 2" long and 1 1/4" wide. bent the tab and bolted on to the axle nut. The aluminum was free from the scrap iron dumpster at work. goes well with the aluminum seat, lol!!!
I just bought axle nut covers for my Slim.
43428-09 - Front Axle Nut Covers, Gloss Black – Billet
43422-09 - Rear Axle Nut Covers, Gloss Black – Billet
On the front ones there were two 10-24 threaded holes at different depths to fit different axles.
Even though the instructions say to only use one, I went ahead and used two set screws anyway for a tighter fit.
The rears only had one hole each - so I drilled and tapped an additional 10-24 thread at 60° from the original, so both can grab a flat on the nuts.
I found extra 10-24 x 1/4", 3/8" & 1/2" stainless set screws at Lowe's that matched the originals perfectly.
I swapped out the supplied set screws with the next longer one since the originals seemed a little too short for my application.
I also added a generous squirt of Permatex Black into each one for a little extra insurance.
For $60 a pair, I don't want to lose them...

Forget THAT!!! Keeping the road lights and fat front tire on a BOBBER??? THAT IS WIKKIDD!!! This from a modded cruiser rider. I saved the image just because it's that good.
I've cleaned, bleached then dyed my open breather filters to match my bikes color scheme. I then use a filter oil other than K&N's, that is clear to recharge it. You can find fabric dye in the laundry section of grocery stores. I dont know if it will wash out with the next cleaning, but it's cheap enough to do it again.

Great stuff guys. Another rookie looking for a little info. Just bought a 2011 Deluxe.
There has been mention of replacing the stock bolts with stainless or chrome. People have even posted a few sites that sell replacements. How do I know what sizes to order?
